A few times a year cadets participate in a awards / promotions parade rewarding their hard work over the past few months.
To do this we conduct a parade with the Commanding Officer as the review officer. Cadets will be receiving awards in the following areas. 1. Promotions 2. Fitness Badges 3. Marksmanship badges 4. Acceleration Training Completion and new level assignments for applicable cadets 5. Swearing in of the new recruits. We welcome all parents and loved ones to please attend to congratulate and support your child with their accomplishments. ALL Cadets are to arrive at the squadron NLT 1815hrs. Parade practise to begin at 1530 after attendance has been taken, parents are invited to be seated by 1910hrs. After the parade the SSC will be running a parents meeting in the classroom and the cadets will be participating in spots. Cadets please bring sports gear to change into. Any questions to the Commanding Officer. 676 Kittyhawk RCACS will be hosting the 16th Annual Alan Banky Memorial Air Rifle in Victoria, BC.
This Competition is open to all Air Squadrons in BC who come together to show off their skill with the Daisy Air Rifle. Squadrons will be competing in teams of 5 and points will be totalled together and ranked against all the other teams competiting. Cadets will be meeting CI WU at the 103 LHQ at 1600 on the Friday evening and will be returning on Saturday evening. Cadets will be issued their range gear and be given an opportunity to sight their rifles on Monday 26 Nov 2018 at 1630 at the 103 LHQ. On the Monday 26th Cadets will be informed of what to bring and be provided more instruction. Activity: Level 1 Training Weekend
Who: All Level 1 Cadets Where: 1513 Forbes Ave, Cadet Building When: 24 – 25 Nov 0800-1700 Bring: All Uniform parts, sports gear and note pad/pen NCOIC: TBA OIC: Capt Khan Description Having a strong foundation in General Cadet Knowledge, Drill, Uniform Maintenance and the fundamentals of the Air Cadet program is essential for every cadet. A training weekend is going to be used to teach the new recruits of 525, 103, 835 and 858 confidence and proficiency with the basic knowledge requirements to be a cadet. A training weekend is to be organized for November. This will also allow for the cadets who are eligible to be accelerated to gain a strong foundation prior to being accelerated to their new training levels. This is not an over night event, cadets are to be picked up and dropped of each training day. Day 1 Cadets are to wear a white shirt and dress pants and bring all their uniform parts / sports gear / notepad and pen Day 2 Cadets are to wear their uniforms and bring their completed workbooks in for evaluations. Who: All Level Cadets Where: 1513 Forbes Ave, Cadet Building When: 17 Nov 18 0900 - 1700 Bring: sports gear (dress for the weather) and note pad/pen. Bagged Lunch. NCOIC: FCpl Koch, J OIC: CI Wu, K (Event) and Lt Khan, E (Range) Description Due to the facility limitations at 525 pathfinder and our inability to do the mandatory range shooting at our LHQ, a weekend day range day will be organized to assist the cadets with fulfilling the range shooting requirements. Cadets will arrive in appropriate sports gear for the weather. They will be organized through a range safety lesson led by Lt Khan, E followed up three opportunities to shoot the Daisy Air Rifle. The cadets who are not shooting will be participating in a sport and or fitness opportunities led my CI Wu, K and FCpl Koch, J. Senior cadets who are members of the Range team who wish to assist the range need to contact/speak with Lt Khan, E and will be assigned as range assistants for the day. Who: ALL 525 Cadets Where: Royal Canadian Legion, West Vancouver Branch 60 & West Vancouver Cenotaph When: Sunday, November 11th 2018 Bring: Winter Dress with dress shirt and tie. NCOIC: WO1 Yeung OIC: Capt Khan, Z Description Remembrance Day is a memorial day observed in Canada since the end of the First World War to remember the members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty. As an Air Cadet, this parade is mandatory for ALL cadets. Cadets will meet at the Royal Canadian Legion, West Vancouver Branch 60 located at 580 18th Street in West Vancouver at the following timings: 1. Cenotaph Guard & aide de comps 0900hrs 2. Legion Work Party 0900hrs 3. Cadets without assignments No later than (NLT) 1000hrs For event security, many roads will be closed around the legion and cenotaph. Please ensure you allow yourself time to park outside the perimeter and walk to the legion. Cadet will have eaten lunch prior to arriving as no meals or snacks will be provided. Parents are welcome to stay for the parade; cadets are to be up at 1500hrs. Dress will be your full uniform with your dress shift, pants, tie, tunic, wedge and boots for those who have it. For those that don’t have a uniform please dress with black pants and a while dress shift. Please dress for the weather as well. If the parka or a conservative winter coat will be required, please bring it along with your issued gloves. Activity: Level 1 Power FAM Flying
Who: Level 1’s When: Saturday November 10th 0930 - 1600 Where: Main Terminal Boundary Bay Airport Dress: Appropriate civilian attire OIC: CI Wu, K Description Part of the cadet program is to be given the opportunity for a familiarization flight. Familiarization flying includes a detailed pre and post flight briefing. During the flight cadets are introduced to the primary aircraft controls and how they maneuver the aircraft in flight. Cadets will be given the opportunity to fly straight and level, maneuver the aircraft in turns and get a description of the flight instruments. Please sign up on the sign up board for the shifts. A call out will be done Friday evening confirming the activity. Cadets will meet at the main terminal at Boundary Bay Airport NLT 0930hrs. If the pilot isn't their please wait as he may be delayed getting the aircraft signed up and fueled prior to the flight. If you are running late due to traffic or decide you can no longer attend please contact Capt. Khan, Zakir at 778-877-9226. This will allow us the opportunity to possibly fill the seat with another cadet or stop a delay waiting for you to arrive at the airport.
