When: Monday 1 November 2021 1730-1900 What: Return of non fitting uniform parts Who: Cadets or Parent of Cadet How: All parts placed in tied off plastic garbage bag Cadets are requested to return any uniform parts that no longer fit. Cadets are to ensure returned uniform parts are washed and cleaned. Cadets can either return their uniform before heading to our regular training location or parents can drop off the uniforms at the Navy League Building after they have dropped off their cadet. ** Urgent Return ** - Training Opportunity The annual Music Clinic and testing and an opportunity for all eligible cadets to enhance their skill with a specific instrument along with being eventually tested to gain an instrumental level proficiency badge which can be worn on their uniforms. As with last year, this year’s clinic will be conducted virtually over various nights. Cadets may sign up for any of the training dates that are convenient for them as max participation is not only important for each cadet’s progress but also to the squadrons ability to stand up a band program soon. Please see the attached warning order which outlines the available dates. Eligible cadets will receive invites to their primary email address in Fortress where they can express interest for their selected serial and assigned instructor. For new cadets especially who have not participated in our band program locally and are interested in joining, along with our returning cadets who which to ensure they are registered correctly are to reach out to our band officer ASAP. Training in-person is an essential part of our program. Training this way allows for leadership exposure for a senior cadet and more hands-on experiences for our junior cadets. As promised the adult staff to have completed and received approval to conduct the in-person training along with our senior cadets helping put together a robust training program for the cadets. Cadets will return to weekly evening training at our LHQ in West Vancouver, this will continue and expand as time goes on. As some or all our training on Monday evenings will be conducted outdoors, please look ahead at the forecasted weather and weather a jacket, gloves and or hats etc. as required to remain dry and warm. Once you arrive, please follow the instruction of the adult staff as inside access is limited. Masks must be worn inside or outside at all times. Date: Monday Evenings (Starting 18th Oct) Time: 1800hrs for Level 5 Cadets till 2145hrs 1830hrs for Level 1-4 Cadets till 2130hrs. Dress: Field Training Uniforms (FTU’s) – if you have not been issued FTU’s yet business casuals dress. (Remember jackets etc. as required for the weather) Bring: Water Bottle, Snack, Notebook, Pen, Mask Parents, we will be having our closing parade and announcements outside in the parking lot starting at 2110. We invite you to join/listen in, so you are aware of the upcoming activities / requirements as well.
