Fall Thunder Level 1&2 Field Training Exercise

Who: Level 1&2 Cadets
Where: Columbia Valley Training Area C - Chilliwack, BC
When: 22-24 November 2019 
Bring: See Joining Instructions (Will be distributed on November 12, 2019)

Description 
525 will be joining a multi squadron exercise running from 22-24 of November 2019. This is an opportunity for all cadets at 525 to participate in mandatory survival training conducive for their successful completion of their training level.

Joining Instructions outlining more details, kit lists and permissions forms will be distributed on November 12th. 
Cadets are to meet at the 525 LHQ at 1615 hrs on the 22 November where they will have their kit inspected by the bus officer prior to departing for Area C - Chilliwack. Cadets will be returning via bus, and need to be picked up by their parents on 24 November at 1400 hrs. 
Please pick up a joining instruction package once they become available. Permission forms will be collected when cadets board the bus on the 22nd of November.

Salute to Veterans - BC Lions Half Time

Activity: Salute to the Veterans
Who: ALL 525 Cadets 
Where: 777 Pacific Blvd, Vancouver, BC
    - Meet at the East Airlock Entrance 
When: November 2, 2019
Bring: C1 - Full Uniform (Shirt, Tie, Tunic, Pants, Belt, Wool Socks, Boots)

Description 
BC Lions dedicate a football night in November to the Veterans. Cadets are to arrive at BC Place Stadium East Airlock entrance at 1730hrs on Saturday, November 2, 2019. 

Dress if full uniform with your dress shirt, pants, tie, tunic and boots for those who have it. For those that don’t have a uniform please dress with black pants and a white dress shirt. 

There will be every effort to secure a seat for cadets to watch the game after half-time, but there are no guarantees.

Level 1 Training Weekend/Acceleration

Activity: Level 1 Training Weekend  
 
Who: All Level 1 Cadets 
 
Where: 1513 Forbes Avenue, North Vancouver, BC
 
When:  19 October 2019 - 0800-1800
              20 October 2019 -  0800-1230 (only for those being accelerated. Ages 13 and up)
 
Bring:  All Uniform parts, sports gear and note pad/pen

Description 
 
Having a strong foundation in General Cadet Knowledge, Drill, Uniform Maintenance and the fundamentals of the Air Cadet program is essential for every cadet. A training weekend is going to be used to teach the new recruits of 525 confidence and proficiency with the basic knowledge requirements to be a cadet. A training weekend is to be organized for October. This will also allow for the cadets who are eligible to be accelerated to gain a strong foundation prior to being accelerated to their new training levels. 

This is not an over night event, cadets are to be picked up and dropped of each training day.** 

Day 1 Cadets are to wear a white shirt and dress pants and bring all their uniform parts / sports gear / notepad and pen

Day 2 Cadets are to wear their uniforms and bring their completed workbooks in for evaluations.

October CO's Parade

Good Evening Everyone,

Just a reminder tonight is the squadrons first Commanding Officers parade for the training year.

Cadets are to arrive at the normal times to the squadron. Dressed in their full uniforms with dress shirts, tunics, pants, ties, boots. They are also to bring a change of sports gear to change into for after the parade.

Between your arrival and the start of parade new recruits will be receiving their flight assignments.

All cadets will then conduct parade practice till 710pm. For parents the parade will be starting at 720pm so if you wish you may come join and watch the event. As this is the first CO's parade there are not many awards to present.

1. Best Dress cadets for the month of September
2. Recognition of summer training.
3. LAC , CPL and FCPL promotions

After the parade cadets will be changing into sports gear and participating in organized sports activities and have an opportunity to get to know their flights better
