Holiday Season – Training Update
From the adult staff and senior cadets we wish everyone is staying safe and enjoying their winter holiday. The following is a significant training announcement regarding our start up in January. As mentioned when we first started to navigate our training during a pandemic we were adamant that the Air Cadet program will not become a vector for transmission of Covid-19, because of this the decision was made provincially to delay our return to in-person training. To aline our squadron to this guidance we have extended our winter stand down for an additional week ending now on January 8th. No in-person training will be conducted prior to this date. Looking forward we were ensured an official decision from our regulating body regarding a return to in-person training will be made NLT the 7th of January. So what does this mean for 525. As mentioned we have extended our winter stand down until the 8th of January, with a target of January 10th as our first night back. Once the official decision on how the new year will begin is made on the 7th of January we maybe forced to return to virtual training as until the pandemic allows for a safe return. Please pay close attention to your emails and our SLACK channels as a announcement either way will be made by the adult staff here locally NLT 8th January, this will allow for a two day quick turn around to possibly stand our a virtual training program. We know the outlook of a possible return virtually to training is not appealing, but I have all the confidence that our adult staff and senior cadets can deliver a successful training program while still emphasizing our core objectives. Questions to your level officers. Well it’s that time of year. 525 Pathfinder Squadron will be taking a two week break (Stand Down) over the holiday season. The squadron will not be participating in any activities from 19 Dec 21 to 1 Jan 22.
Over the past four months we have seen our cadets take large leaps with their development, either through learning what it means to be a cadet for our juniors, to our more senior cadets learning how to lead others and help drive the squadron through this training year. Since September we have been concentrating on creating a strong foundation. Looking forward, we are going to be starting up more operational training activities - such as range, band, CASC, drone flying and day survival training. I can’t wait to have our cadets experience these new opportunities. Lastly, for this upcoming training night, 13 Dec, we will be collecting everyone’s FTU Tunic’s only to have velcro for the name tags professionally installed along with having each cadets name tag created. Cadets are to ensure they BRING A JACKET as at the end of the training night they will be handing in their tunics to our Supply Officer. Questions to Capt Mok, Z From the adult staff at 525 Pathfinder, we would like to wish everyone an excellent holiday season and looking forward to seeing you all again in-person for 2022. |
